Bases and Scholarships

1. All guitarists without age limits who want to participate in the José Tomás contest (Youth or Professional categories) and in the master classes of the 25th edition of the José Tomás Guitar Festival that will be held from July 9 to 23 in Petrer. If you have paid the registration fee for the José Tomás Contest or for the master class beforehand and you get the scholarship, we will refund the corresponding amount.

2. Two modes:

• Modality A: Contest to attend Petrer in person. The scholarship offers to participate in the José Tomás contest. Receive 2 active master classes to choose from among the teachers attending the festival, you will be able to listen to the rest of the teachers. Attendance at all the monographs including an individual master class with David Russell. Free tickets to all concerts, accommodation in the festival hostel and an invitation to the “25th Anniversary Party” dinner-concert. An exclusive 25th anniversary t-shirt and a batch of CD’s from the JSM Guitar Records label for the winners of the José Tomás contest.
• Modality B: Contest to participate Online in the activities of the Petrer Festival. The scholarship offers to receive 2 individual online master classes to choose from among the professors attending the festival, you will be able to see the rest of the professors in streaming (at least one class from each professor), streaming access to all the monographs. (live or deferred at different times)

3. Dates.

• Inscription. Complete the registration form with your data in this link. Pay the registration fee (Modality A “face-to-face scholarship”): €20 – (Modality B “online scholarship”): €10. Last day of term on May 18.
• Sending the video link: Upload your video to your YouTube channel hidden and send us the link no later than May 21 to info@guitarrapetrer.com. A playlist of participating videos will be posted on the Petrer Guitar Festival YouTube channel.
• Start of the contest: from May 25 at 00:00. Select “public” your video and get the most likes until May 30 at 11:59 p.m, the most voted video in each modality will win a scholarship. The video of the playlist that is not hidden at 00:05 on May 31, will be deleted.

4. Repertoire: (A piece or part of a piece, of free choice that does not exceed 10 minutes)

5. Video rules: Recorded horizontally and without editing, in one shot. Just before starting to play, say “This video is for the With My Guitar At Home 2 contest, José Tomás Villa de Petrer International Guitar Festival, Mode A or B, (depending on the case).

6. Result: The result will be made public on June 1 at 12:00 on the social networks of Facebook, Instagram and the website of the José Tomás Villa de Petrer International Guitar Festival.
