The International Classical Guitar 2 in 1 Competition 3.0
The 5th International Classical Guitar Competition of Finland 2024 (Spain has separate rules). Round 1 is a video round organised together by Finland and Spain. Next rounds are held live in each country.

Eligible competitors
The competition is open for all professional classical guitar players and students of music schools, higher musical educational institutions and universities from all countries. The competition does not have an age limit.

Confirming participation
- Confirm the participation for Online Round 1 and possible Live rounds by paying the invoice(s) by the deadline.
- Unconfirmed attendance will be cancelled and this position will be given to the next applicants in the waiting list.
- If a competitor cancels their attendance, the registration fee will not be refunded.

NOTE: for Spain, there is also a possibility to apply directly to the live competition. For Finland, all live competitors are selected from Round 1
3. Program
All music must be performed from memory
3.1 Round 1, YouTube video (8-12 mins)
Minimum of 2 compositions or movements showing different character and musical style.
Format: YouTube video (download instructions for recording the video, PDF).
Round 1 is the same for Spain and Finland.
3.2 First Phase, live in Petrer (max 10 mins)
Free choice repertoire
3.3 Semifinal, live in Petrer (max 15 mins)
Free choice repertoire with at least two different eras
3.4 Final, live in Petrer (max 25 mins)
Free choice repertoire with at least three different eras, including a work of classicism. A maximum of 4 participants will qualify for the Professional Final (the jury may decide if there is a change in this number). The final will be by voting system. The first prize being the participant who achieves the highest score.
Please note that the rules for the live rounds in Tampere, Finland, will be announced exclusively on their website, not here.
4.1 All prizes are announced on the website www.guitarrapetrer.com/concurso/profesional/premios-concurso-profesional/ The prizes are subject to taxes or withholdings in accordance with the law, unless tax exemption applies.
4.2 The winning contestants are obliged to collect the prizes in person at the place and time where the awards ceremony is held.
4.3 The prizes will be subject to taxes or withholdings in force according to law, unless exempt from the Tax Administration.
4.4 Failure to comply with any contract in the prize concerts will result in the loss of the rest of the concerts and their cash amount.
5.1. Participation in the contest implies the transfer to the PIMA Classical Guitar Association, organizer of the festival, of the rights of reproduction and distribution, of the photographic and recording material, provided for in the legislation on Intellectual Property through the means considered. , all without profit.
5.2.The organizers are not responsible for possible copyright fees for videos placed on their YouTube channels.
5.3 Participation in the 23rd International Classical Guitar Competition, “José Tomás – Villa de Petrer”, implies full acceptance of these rules.
6.1. The competition has two independent Juries from both organizing parties from Tampere and Petrer.
6.2. The jury will choose the winners of the contest. The jury for Round 1 may differ from that of the other rounds.
6.3. The Jury will be made up of teachers and personalities from the world of music.
6.4. The Jury’s ruling will be final.
