VII INTERNATIONAL GUITAR CONTEST
JOSÉ TOMÁS - VILLA DE PETRER
6th – 12th July 2008
TERMS
1. All XI Guitar Week masterclass students are allowed to join. (Limited availability depending on timetables)
2. Two categories will be stablished by age range: Juvenile, up to 24 (including the “proms” prize,up to 16) and Professional, no age limit.
3. On July 6th at 18:00 the public election will tell the order of participation will take place. That order will be followed all along.
4. Dates:
- Juvenile: 7th at 16:00 h first stage. 9th at 17:30 h final.
- Professional: 8th at 16:00 h first stage. 10th at 10:00 h semi-final. 11th at 18:30 h big final.
- 12th at 21:00 h, prize giving.
5. Repertoire:
- Juvenile. first stage: Up to 10 min, one or two free choice pieces. Final: Up to 20 min, free choice of at least two different epoques.
- Professional: First stage: Up to 10 min, one or two free choice pieces. Semi-final: "Debussy,s tribute" by Manuel de Falla and up to 12 min of free repertoire. Final: Up to 30 min of free repertoire including a piece or part of a piece of the Baroque and one of these Francisco Tárrega,s: Capricho Árabe, Sueño "Trémolo"two Valses or three free choice Preludios.
- Pieces will not be repeated in different stages
6. The contestant will hand out three copies of the pieces in the playing order in every stage on the drawing,s day.
7. The Jury will be formed by teachers of the XI Guitar Festival and from different people from the music world.
8. The Jury,s decision will be unquestionable, and the prizes could be declared deserted.
9. Participaton in the VII Internatinal Guitar Contest "José Tomás- Villa de Petrer" supposses the total acceptation of the bases.
10. Prices will be subject to legal taxes, with the exception of the tributary administration.
11. The no fulfillment of any of the contracts in the concerts given as a prize, will mean the loss of the rest of the concerts and their retributions.
12. The contestants awarded must collect the prizes personally at the place and time where the award ceremony takes place.
